It is my pleasure to endorse Patricia Cameron for Regional Council Member for the TNO.

Through her work as an EDMP Representative, I know Patricia to be a strong and dedicated advocate. Her EDMP role involves complex problem-solving and working with different stakeholders to resolve issues and provide support to members, and she navigates these situations with professionalism and care. As a colleague, she is hardworking, warm, and personable and always keen to provide assistance. I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside Patricia in the Enhanced Disability Management Program since 2021. Working on the same team supporting VCH members, I have seen firsthand the care, empathy, and professionalism she consistently brings to her work.

Patricia takes the time to listen and understand each member’s unique circumstances, ensuring they feel heard and supported during difficult and often vulnerable times. She is also someone who is always willing to help others, whether it’s supporting colleagues or going the extra mile for members. Her dedication, integrity, and genuine care make her an excellent choice for Regional Chair of the TNO region.

Jaspreet Gill, RPN

I am proud to endorse Patricia Cameron for the role of Regional Council Member (TNO Region / BCNU).

I have had the privilege of knowing Patricia across multiple stages of her nursing career, first through my role as Kamloops Coordinator for the Stenberg College Psychiatric Nursing Program, secondly as her clinical nursing instructor, and later as a colleague in practice. From the very beginning, Patricia stood out. It was obvious early on that she possessed not only the intelligence required to excel in nursing, but also the integrity, compassion, and work ethic that define a truly exceptional nurse.

Over the years, I have watched her grow from a dedicated student into a confident and capable professional. Working alongside her, I saw firsthand her commitment to patient care, her ability to collaborate effectively with her peers, and her willingness to step forward and take on professional responsibilities, including meaningful involvement in union roles. Patricia has consistently demonstrated that she is reliable, thoughtful, and deeply committed to advocating for both her patients and her colleagues.

What sets Patricia apart is her balance of empathy and leadership. She listens carefully, considers diverse perspectives, and approaches challenges with both compassion and clarity. At the same time, she is not afraid to make difficult decisions when needed, always grounded in strong values and a genuine desire to do what is right.

I trust Patricia completely. I have seen her integrity, her growth, and her unwavering commitment to the nursing profession evolve from student, to colleague, to friend. I have no doubt that she will bring that same dedication, insight, and leadership to the role of Regional Council Member.

I strongly encourage members to support Patricia Cameron. She will work hard, represent you well, and lead with both heart and purpose.

It’s truly an honour for me to endorse Patricia Cameron for the position of Regional Council Member for the TNO.

As  TNO Region Council member from 2012-2020 , I had the privilege to meet Patricia  in 2014 and come to know her over the last 12 years .

I had the honor to support , mentor and encourage Patricia while I worked along side her.

During that time, I’ve come to deeply respect not only her strong work ethic, but the genuine care and integrity she brings to everything she does. She has always been committed to advocating for BCNU members and strengthening our nursing profession.

Patricia’s union journey began prior to our time working together, serving as a UPN steward and later as Chairperson of UPN Local 1. In those roles, she supported members through grievances and meaningful advocacy work. Following the merger with BCNU in 2014, she remained dedicated to serving all members by stepping into the role of BCNU steward and taking on several Regional Executive positions.

Over the years, Patricia has served as a PR Advocate, Communications Secretary, Occupational Health & Safety Representative, and EDMP (Enhanced Disability Management Program) Representative. Through these roles, she has developed a strong and well-rounded understanding of contract interpretation, workplace labour law and legislation , and the complexities involved in supporting members through a wide range of situations.

What stands out most to me is how Patricia approaches both her work and the people she serves. She is thoughtful, genuine, and carries a deep sense of responsibility to those she represents. She truly listens, brings insight, and considers issues from multiple perspectives. She is collaborative in her approach and consistently works toward fair, practical solutions. No matter the circumstance, Patricia leads with professionalism, compassion, and care.

She is approachable, highly knowledgeable, and dependable. I could always count on Patricia, and I know others can as well. She builds trust naturally and follows through on her commitments—qualities that make a meaningful difference to the members she supports.

Although I retired in 2022 and no longer have a vote, Patricia would absolutely have mine. I strongly encourage BCNU members to support Patricia Cameron in this election. I am confident she will be a strong and effective voice for the Thompson North Okanagan region.

FT steward RIH 2006-2012

Retired Nurse 2022

I am happy to endorse Patricia Cameron in her campaign for TNO Regional Council Member.

I first met Patricia in 2018 when I attended regional meetings as a student member. As OH&S representative, I could see her honest dedication and heart that went into this important role. Additionally, to this campaign she brings years of experience in performing executive role functions. This prior knowledge and understanding is a valuable asset to an executive team. As I’ve seen Patricia in these roles, she shows up for members as someone that is approachable, accountable to herself, and with a strong voice of advocacy. As a young nurse, these are the qualities that I personally find important in a leader for guidance in my nursing career, and as a union activist. In my short time of knowing Patricia professionally and personally, I have always admired her dedication outside of her work to her family. Her 3 sons have been involved in many extracurricular sports that have required time, organization, preparedness, and flexibility. These are skills that she successfully navigates in her every day life, but also in her work. She consistently shows, and has shown, her capacity to uphold powerful leadership qualities that are valuable to forming a resilient, united, and efficient membership.

Justine Musey, RN

I am endorsing Patricia Cameron for Regional Chair of the TNO. Patricia demonstrates the qualities of accountability, objectivity, commitment, collectivity, justice, fairness, advocacy, and integrity needed to lead the TNO region and address the challenges in our region on behalf of BCNU members.

I have worked with Patricia for many years and have witnessed her active participation in regional roles: professional responsibility advocate, occupational health and safety representative, and communications secretary. This experience combined with her current role as a BCNU Enhanced Disability management representative has prepared her to lead as the Regional Chair. Patricia embodies both professional and personal values necessary to lead and guide our Region as our members face increasingly difficult working conditions. Patricia is a fierce advocate with significant experience working with disenfranchised, vulnerable, disengaged members frustrated within our profession. Patricia as a leader will best serve our region, advancing and amplifying our members’ voices.

Sincerely,

Karla Malm BCNU EDMP Representative

I first met Patricia in 2015 following the merger of UPN with BCNU, when she continued her commitment to supporting members by stepping into the role of a BCNU steward. We later worked together for five years on the TNO executive, where she served as Communications Secretary and then as the Occupational Health and Safety Representative.

I have great respect for Patricia’s ability to learn new skills and embrace challenges with a positive attitude. She works well within a team, showing genuine interest in different perspectives and consistently contributing practical ideas and solutions. She leads with integrity and honesty, follows through on her commitments, and communicates in a timely and professional manner. Patricia also brings a warm, engaging presence to every interaction.

In her current role as an EDMP representative, she has demonstrated a strong passion for supporting and advocating for members. I am confident she will bring that same dedication and effectiveness to the role of Regional Council Member.

Respectfully,

Tracy Musey, RN

I write this letter in support of Patricia Cameron for the TNO Regional Chair position.

I work in the same capacity as Patricia within the Enhanced Disability Management Program, where we each handle complex and often sensitive files. Patricia demonstrates clinical knowledge and maintains a consistent, professional approach to her work. She carries out her responsibilities in an organized and reliable manner and adheres to established processes when managing files. she communicates in a professional manner, participates appropriately, and she approaches issues in a practical and measured way consistent with the expectations of her role. Patricia connects with people, creates a sense of trust, and she listens thoughtfully, approaches problems with a calm and balanced perspective, and consistently works toward solutions that are fair, practical, and member focused. She demonstrates a consistent and professional approach in her work and goes beyond simply doing the work, she truly advocates.

She is someone others turn to for guidance.  She is respectful and grounded in strong values. She understands the realities nurses face and brings both compassion and clarity when navigating complex issues.

Patricia would serve BCNU members with dedication, integrity, and a strong sense of responsibility as TNO Regional Chair. I believe she would be well-suited for this position.

Sincerely,

I am writing to express my wholehearted support for Patricia, whose character and contributions embody the very best of what it means to be both a nurse and a human being.

It is rare to encounter someone who so consistently demonstrates ethics, compassion, intelligence, and unwavering advocacy—not only in her professional life, but in every role she holds. As a nurse, Patricia approaches her work with a depth of empathy and integrity that cannot be taught. She meets patients where they are, without judgment, and ensures they feel seen as whole individuals—not just as conditions or charts. She understands, deeply and intuitively, that true wellness involves both mind and body, and she carries this philosophy into every interaction. Patients in her care are not only treated—they are respected, heard, and valued. Her knowledge and clinical competence are matched by her ability to communicate with clarity and kindness. Patricia is approachable, honest, and grounded, making her someone both patients and colleagues trust implicitly. She creates space for others—whether that is a patient needing reassurance or a fellow nurse navigating challenges—always offering thoughtful guidance and perspective. Beyond bedside care, Patricia is a strong and effective advocate. I have personally witnessed her stand up for union members who needed a fair and compassionate voice. She does not shy away from difficult conversations; instead, she leans into them with the goal of creating meaningful, lasting improvements in the ever-evolving landscape of nursing. Her commitment to fostering healthy boundaries and supporting the growth of future nurses speaks to her leadership and long-term vision for the profession. Her strength extends far beyond her career. Patricia is a devoted mother to three sons, each actively involved in hockey, and a supportive wife to a hardworking and loving husband who is often away. Despite the demands of family life, she continues to give generously of herself—whether organizing school PAC initiatives, managing hockey fundraising and finances, or simply being the steady presence her family relies on. In the face of profound personal loss—the sudden passing of her mother, who was also her best friend—Patricia has shown remarkable resilience and grace. She continues to care for her elderly father with the same compassion she offers to everyone around her. Through every challenge life has presented, she has not only endured but thrived, consistently leading with heart and strength. On a personal note, Patricia has had a meaningful impact on my own journey into nursing. Her example—both professionally and personally—was a significant influence in my decision to pursue this path. That alone speaks volumes about the kind of leader and mentor she is. Patricia’s ability to work both independently and collaboratively, her exceptional organizational skills, and her genuine care for others make her an outstanding candidate for any role she chooses to pursue. She brings light, purpose, and integrity into every space she enters. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

I first met Patricia when I joined the EDMP team in 2023. From the outset, she shared a wealth of valuable knowledge gained through her years of supporting members who were off work due to injury or illness. As I was new to this side of EDMP, Patricia was a patient and thoughtful educator, always willing to take the time to answer questions and provide guidance.

In the years since, she has continued to demonstrate her strength as a collaborative and dependable teammate, particularly when navigating complex and challenging situations. Her experience representing members is clearly reflected in her advocacy—she brings a deep understanding of collective agreement provisions and applies that knowledge effectively to support members when they need it most.

In a time where members are navigating significant changes—including staffing ratios, new collective agreement language, and recent decisions impacting benefits—we need a strong leader who understands how these shifts will affect members in the long term. Patricia brings that insight. She also maintains a strong occupational health and safety focus, recognizing the importance of safe and supportive workplaces and consistently advocating for improvements that protect members.

Patricia consistently puts members first. She is generous with her time, always willing to share ideas, mentor others, and contribute to thoughtful, solutions-focused discussions. Her expertise, professionalism, and commitment to member advocacy make her an excellent candidate for Regional Council.
